Although we argue a lot, over many issues, nothing is more powerful or inspiring as when our Nation rally’s together. In this very moment I can say with my head held high, I’m proud to be an American. This was Written by my friends who run a fan page on Facebook called Life’s Detour. I could not have said it much better than that!. Tonight I am very proud to be an American. Last summer I took this photo I called only the strong dedicated to those who have not only server our country here, but overseas, and in foreign armed services to. I love when our nation comes together, and for a little while we are not Democrats, or Republicans, but WE ARE UNITED.

We as a nation will not tolerate terrorists!!! It does not matter if they are from here, or from another country. I as a citizen represent my country, I represent you, and I represent my family. We are a strong nation, and I do not know why we only come together in times of tragedy. My father almost every morning hangs an American Flag out front of our house!!!. He is a Proud American, although he never fought in a war, he served in the Marine Corps. He had a Friend who died in Vietnam, his name Was MSG. Timothy Bodden. He was aboard a CH-46 Air crew member when his Helicopter went down over Vietnam. I had heard a few stories, from it just went down, to they took enemy fire. No matter the story we know he served his country, and died for his country!.

We will never forget those who died, or got injured this past week, because of a few cowardly acts by excuse my language Cowardly Asshole terrorists. I would like to say my prayers are still with the family of those lost, and those who lives are changed forever by these cowardly acts. We will forever be in debt to those who brought these terrorists to justice, and to those who were first responders, firefighters, and even regular citizens who took it into their own hands to save people they did not even know. Now their lives have intersected, and will forever be connected. God Bless All Of You!

Thank you for reading this!!

Americana, and the icons that represent us!

24ede32f-8d82-44df-bf5c-2697d71b5a2d_FULLSCREEN

I have always been a fan of American Nostalgia, and what better way to start a blog today than talk about America. Today April 15 , 2013 We as a nation were once again attacked on our own soil. Yet we do not know whether it was a terrorist attack, or a person just trying to gain notoriety by doing something that would harm innocent people. These actions will be vindicated by our government, and its citizens. We as a people have always realized certain things keep this country together, and remembering our past is one of them. Tonight I present an image I took last summer at a car show in Gurnee, Illinois. Chevrolet is an Icon from the late 50’s and 60’s. Chevrolet represents strength in American engineering something we have always been proud of.

We as a nation have never backed down to any terrorist act, and we will not start now. It is nights like these I feel like putting on an old Black, and White film, and feeling the comfort of our past. Things from the past are like comfort food. Stuff like the Drive-in Theater, Classic cars, or something as simple as a McDonald’s Hamburger. I have always loved the 50’s it was a simpler era, although the United States still had problems, we were heading towards better days. Yes we had war, but we didn’t have to worry about countries sending a nuclear warhead over. We had to worry about Equal rights for the African-American community, and today we are in a similar battle for gay equality, and rights. We need to do the right things. We need to take a stand for what is right like Equal rights. We will not stand for Terrorist Acts on our soil. We as a brother, and sisterhood should protect each other, and not hate.

I say the word We to even mean a world wide peace. We should respect each others Religions, Beliefs, and Qualities, without having to have a war because you believe we should be like you, or vice-verse. I want to see my children grow up in a world where people are equal, where war is not a thought anymore, and where they don’t have to worry what will happen to their children. I am sick of hearing one religion is better than what I believe in, or that we hate you because you are free. This has to stop, so tonight lets sit down remember our past to accomplish a better future. Watch an old movie, go through old photos, or even just sit with your family and talk about the way things used to be!. You might be surprised and learn something new.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I really hope you enjoy, and pass this on tonight!. God Bless the people who lost their lives today at the Boston Marathon, and God Bless those who were their and got injured to. We pray for all those involved from those injured to those who helped!!

Ink, Expression, And The Art of Tattooing

jamie new 4

Awhile back I photographed a model, her name was Jamie Barker. She has been dealing with back problems all her life, and has had several surgeries to try to correct them. I photographed her for a shot to get into Inked Magazine which they denied me. I love tattoos, the art, and the stories behind them. I always felt ink was a way to express yourself, and say this is who I am, and the only person who will change me, is me!. Tattooing has always been a way to express who you really are. Even if it was only a way to rebel, there is always a story behind the ink. I do not think we as people should be afraid, because someone is  different, or they have a flaw. We should accept people for who they are, and what makes them beautiful. We have always been a judgmental society, and we need to stop. If you judge someone because they look different, maybe you should take a look deep within yourself. People who judge usually need to change something about them, because they feel something is wrong with them, or in their lives.

I have watched enough tattoo programs, and been around enough tattooed people, including myself. I have come to realize they are some of the sweetest, and kindest people I have ever met. Usually if you walk up to a person with tattoos, and ask the meaning behind a specific tattoo?, they will be glad to sit and tell the story behind it. The story may be as small as well I wanted a tattoo, or I was a firefighter during 9/11 and this is a memorial to those who died!. So next time you see someone who looks different don’t be afraid. Say hello you never know the person, until you get to know the person!.

Spring, and Baseball has arrived!!!!!!

flowers

So yesterday I went to the Chicago Whitesox game, as I was standing by the bullpen watching Jake Peavy warm up, in walks their Catcher Tyler Flowers. After shooting several shots of Jake Peavy throwing, and Bobby Thigpen who is still the Whitesox all time saves leader. I decided to snap off a few shots of Tyler Flowers the Whitesox Catcher. If you are friends with me on Facebook, or follow my blog you know I love sports, especially baseball, and my Chicago Whitesox even more. I decided no editing would be done to this photo, because I thought it captured the moment well, and so here it is straight out of the camera. No tricks, no editing, just a plain and simple photograph of our own Tyler flowers. Who not only hit a homerun yesterday, in which they won the game 5-2 over the Kansas City Royals. He also hit one in the opening day game vs Kansas City. Today he hit 1 single, got walked twice, and hit by a pitch, but all fur null, we lost today 3-1. thanks for reading this, and hopefully you enjoy my blog.

Motorcycles, Graffiti, and Models

cherry 9 a

It seems some things I like in life are motorcycles, graffiti, and photoshoots with models. As you can tell I love shooting with motorcycles. One of my favorite eras of our history is probably the late 50’s, and early 60’s. Motorcycles, classic Cars, and Pinups. I love shooting things that are modern that remind me of these times. The times were so much simpler back back then, and we were not dealing with the modern problems we have these days. This shot is with a model known as Cherri Ice, and We have put together some amazing shots. Not only on motorcycles but some boudoir too. I think this shot is one of my favorites we did together because it really takes the models leg, and makes it look extremely long. The pose was grand, and her expression beautiful. I am glad I got to work with her, and would gladly love to do more work with her outside the studio!
